For decades, passengers have been protected from the elements by "umbrella" style sheds, so named as the triangular-shaped roof slopes downward and resembles an open umbrella. Used at stations large and small, they were constructed of wood and painted to match nearby railroad buildings. Platforms of this type are right at home in suburban commuter operations, small towns, or big cities and will look great with the new City Station (933-2904, sold separately). The timeless styling fits any era and the modular design allows easy expansion. The wood station platforms kit can be built as a freestanding structure or used with your favorite wooden depot.
